Adopt An Indigent

ADOPT AN INDIGENT

ADOPT AN INDIGENT

This initiative is based on the principle of love and conscience. We understand that many students are unable to afford the basic requirements of the University education due to financial constraint. From our study, we observed that some students were homeless, and had to beg to survive in the school.

It is this pitiable situation that led the founder to initiate this programme to encourage others to provide resources in order to encourage some brilliant ones who are suffering to acquire education.

Some students are brilliant but financially challenged. We see this as an opportunity to give back to the society by way of encouraging them to pursue their dreams.

These students are termed indigent because they fall into the category of students who have little or no means to complete their academic progammes due to financial constraints.

Our major focus is on bridging the gap between the government and the Community vis-à-vis the benefiting students by acting as an interphase between the two.

By giving support to these students, we ensure that temptation to withdraw from school are cut to the barest minimum, thus we are also helping to eradicate youth truancy, street gang syndrome, and crime from the society through excellence and hardwork.

Objectives of the Adopt a Student Project

The objectives of this programme are tailored to help planners to identify the importance of the issues as mentioned above. These include the following:

  • To initiate a platform for the promotion of excellence in our public and private institutions.
  • To bring about effective communication among the beneficiaries and their sponsors.
  • To reawaken the national conscience towards philanthropy.
  • Encouraging more stakeholder participation in the education of the youths
  • To stop the spread of mediocrity among job seekers
